Four wins and twelve nominations(Not the Oscars) Aladin 2019 is one standout movie of the year , with great visuals and all but yet missing that magic, so the critics say( But who cares, our time in the cinema was worth it) Aladin with Will Smith was exceptional and still is( except the signing in certain scenes which made percieve i was watching bollywood movies) and i have no tirn downs concerning this movie. So what interesting details did we miss? Check them out

During “A Whole New World”, the Carpet flies over the Pridelands of The Lion King (2019).

When the Genie shows Aladdin a floating scroll, the drawing contains Aladdin, the Genie and the Sultan in their animated forms from Aladdin (1992).

When Aladdin and Genie are first speaking in the desert, Carpet can be seen in the background making a sand castle in the form of the Disney logo castle.

In the “Friend Like Me” number, the Carpet does the Carlton dance from Will Smith’s comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990).

During the scene when Aladdin asks Genie to “make him a prince”, Genie produces an actual prince in the background. The prince is dressed in colors of pink & lime green, the same colors in the title logo & a nod to Will Smith’s comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990). So, the Genie created the Fresh Prince for Aladdin.

When Aladdin is shown ‘Ababwa’ on a map by Genie, the map also features Disneyland locations: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland and the Magic Kingdom.

This film has been homaged in two previous Disney live-action films: The Jungle Book (2016) the genie’s lamp was spotted in King Louie’s temple. Beauty and the Beast (2017) a model of Agrabah castle appeared during “Be Our Guest”.

Jim Carrey was the original choice for the Genie but at the time he was involved in a much publicized lawsuit so couldn’t commit to any long term work.

Guy Ritchie originally thought of shooting in Morocco for Agrabah, but decided against it and went with designing Agrabah as an original location.

Will Smith’s first Disney Movie.

Jasmine and Dalia are flowers’ names.

Aladdin is Will Smith’s highest grossing film in his entire film career.

In a scene where Aladdin is sneaking into the palace he mimics moves that are made in the original video game ” Prince of Persia”.

Pro wrestler/WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali Adeel Alam campaigned to play Aladdin.

Mena Massoud was born a year before Aladdin (1992) and Naomi Scott was born a year after it.

Aladdin is a male given Arabic name which means “nobility of faith” or “nobility of creed/ religion”.

Dalia who is Jasmine’s handmaiden is the only main character in this film to be a brand-new character and not to have originated in the previous animated Aladdin continuity.

The Genie and his family live on a lamp-shaped boat. The boat represents Genie’s own wish for freedom and to go anywhere he wishes, and its shape represents his previous residence.

As a wizard, Jafar transforms Iago into a gigantic and monstrous bird so it can recover for him the magic lamp from Jasmine and Aladdin, who ran away with it riding the flying carpet. This is a reference to the roc bird, an enormous eagle of medieval Arab mythology. Its most famous appearance is in the tale of “Simbad the Sailor” in the “One Thousand and One Nights” book.

After being “locked in” the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin asks Carpet, “Hey carpet, do you know a way out of here?” which could be seen as being a supposed tongue-in-cheek reference and nod to contemporary virtual voice activation aid systems, like Siri and Google Home, that are equipped with GPS and which can themselves be activated by the command “Hey Siri” or “Hey Google” before the user asks them for directions.
